Banchee, thanks for heads up. Last 15 min. when those buys at 5.75 went by, the bid gapped up to 6 and the ask 6 1/8. B/A moved up by 1/8th on nearly each buy regardless of how small. Finally, just before bell...some selling...no doubt some folks here...which pulled it back some.

You may be right. MMs may have been expecting same end of day buying as before and shot up price at first sign of activity for best price.

Other guess is someone went short early in day and sat on the thing until end, then when they covered, it triggered others to buy in anticipation of large buys.

Romantic view: Could a block have tried to pass but MMs were short on
inventory?

It would be nice some time if we had Al, Dan and Boomer giving us the play-by-play on these things.
