In a normal market environment layoffs would be seen as bullish yes but when everyone is worried about recession and the talking heads are telling everyone that everything is OK, layoffs are a reminder that our economy may not be striding along as well as Ms. Cohen and friends want us to believe. <g>

I am not screaming the sky is falling ... yet, but it is note worthy that the markets ability to focus on only the news that supports their present outlook is not always the direction we should be looking. My trendlines tell me the SOX is pushing it's limits and my indicators are telling me they might go up some more but this may be the last push up before the earnings warnings start making the market pay attention to gloomier yet more realistic outlooks soon.

BWTHDIK,

Lee
