I don't think it was American Express which was upgraded. It was FedEX. Which I can see as a reason for upgrade. Sales on the net and catalogs should reach record numbers this year. FedEX bottom line getting fat off all the merchandise

Jim,

read the pdf file by Stephen Roach. He talks about the anglo-saxon model to economic recovery which is largely responsible for our prosperity today. While layoffs equate cost cutting, our economy today may not have room for the excess capacity in labor as we did 10+ years ago.
