Dear SHalom,
I understand and have done the same before. My father was ok on the weekend of Nov. 23 at a birthday party for our older son. Then on the Sat. after Thanksgiving he collapsed in his home and my stepmother found him barely breathing. She called 911 and they brought him around and he seemed to do OK for about a week and then the Doctors told us it is lung cancer and he should go home with Hospice care for those with 6 months or less. He got to his home Friday night and died Sunday night. The actual death itself was long and painful. Before this all happened I noticed a verse on my desk that stayed with me through all of this.
Heb. 5:8
Although He was a son, he learnd obedience through what he suffered and once made perfect he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him and was designated by God to be High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
I believe that my father went through what he needed to bring him to the salvation the Lord had for him. I understand grace and mercy more now. Our suffering now is so unimportant compared to eternity. I still grieve for anyone that has not had the wonderful experience of a personal relationship with the Lord while here but I am gratefull for His salvation.
Baruch HaShem,
Nancy
P.S. John 14:27 was my verse for yesterday :)
