I agree. I think that plant was their biggest and most costly mistake....errr, *learning experience*. <g>

Whether or not they can pull themselves back up from this remains to be seen. I think the next three months will tell a lot. I'm definitely along for the ride....it may be a bumpy one, but with the push towards children's literacy these days, I can't see Golden Books just disappearing. Heck, I heard Amazon.com had completely sold out of GBFE's "A Bug's Life" books for a while there in November.

What I'm most curious about right now is what they are going to do with their Entertainment division...their most profitable division, its president Ellenbogen leaves to go to Marvel, and GBFE announces he will not be replaced, and there will be some 'restructuring' and states they will be focusing on the children's books business. Very interesting....

You might want to check out the GBFE Yahoo thread - there are actually some decent discussions there about valuation of the plant sale, union reaction, etc.
