The flare has now been put into perspective.

Read on...
For all you skeptics, nay-sayers and nit-pickers:

Let's suppose we are flaring 100 million cf/day, and it burns for 60 days. That totals 6 billion cubic feet (cf) gas.

The LOWEST expert analyst's estimate is for 3TCF (3 trillion cf gas)

6,000,000,000
_______________ X100 = 0.0002% of the total recoverable gas
3,000,000,000,000

That is 2 ten-thousandths of one percent of recoverable reserves...and that is using the lowest estimate.

Do you now see why the gas lost to the flare is insignificant?
This is also why it will take 30-100 wells to properly produce this field.

Comments welcome.
Rick.
