>>> is more efficient than a car

Don't get touchy with us inarticulate tech types, Gerry. You know how in our inarticulate rage we tend to do things, crazy things, things like Michael Douglas when he.... Oops, never mind.

Seriously, he was trying to explain what a piece of **** he thought the software was without resorting to the kinds of terms I use. It being a courtroom and all. Trouble is, it's hard to be polite about it if you understand software. Especially anything at all about OS. IMHO.

Cheers,
Chaz

P.S. Of course, I don't know if this was his zillionth try for the MSFT lawyer, who would have just kept asking for a revision to whatever he had said, ad infinitum.

P.P.S. If programmers expect to be respected in situations like this we need a guild and a bar exam.

Gerald, I missed this one. The much dreaded automotive analogical metaphor, originally popularized as the "Chrysler car radio" defense. So have you officially gone over to the other side now? Alas poor Gerald, we knew him well. The thing about cars these days, it's not easy to work on the internals anymore (like Windows) but in general, they really do suck less. Something to do with competition, I think.

Cheers, Dan.
