Pthing's being funny. As I imagine you know, shorting for real--if you don't stick in stops and stick with 'em--can be very dangerous.

You wanna mess with things like EBAY for God's sake just put 'em. In my view a good idea. But I could be wrong. Short the stock and the potential loss to you is unlimited. Buy puts and, weeellll, it can be gruesome (another chapter in Mr Market's Little Lessons, but for now never mind), but obviously you can't lose more than you invested.

Still, mess with really pricey stuff, you're probably better off doing options. Slice and dice, do spreads. Whatever. But just shorting for the hell of it can be Sim City, okay?
