Prediction... ie: mixed signals. Watch the bad news be spewed by the talking heads today. Most of the Institutions/Traders sold off here; taking tax losses. Also wash sale expiration for many will not expire untill the 1st of the year. I think we are seeng individual investors buying, some short covering and value funds versus the energy sector funds doing most of the buying here. The bulk of the Street doesn't want this sector to make it's move here... PS What is SLB thinking here. Billions in cash; at an alltime historic low valuation enviroment in the oilpatch and instead of buying companies cheap when their are a plethora of willing sellers; let's venture out of the oilpatch into an area we have little experience and put those Billion$ to work...? Funny how; DLJ announced FLC as their #1 pick simultaneous to a gloom & doom lunch with SLB ??? SLB just doing a good job of managing/ lowering analyst expectations ? Think DLJ got the real message; ie: FLC #1 pick rating ? hmmmm Gotta be thinking outside the box here...
