The Financial Post reports in its Tuesday edition that shares of Kookaburra
Resources soared again on Monday as news of a natural gas blowout in a
jointly held well in Bakersfield, California, continued to have the biggest
effect on the property's smallest stakeholders. Reporter Garry Marr says
that since initial reports of the blowout surfaced, Kookaburra shares have
declined in just one out of 10 sessions. The stock jumped 39 cents to close
at $2.32 on Monday and the stock has now risen more than 460 per cent since
closing at 41 cents on Nov. 23. CIBC Wood Gundy Securities analyst Peter
Linder says this could be a home run but it is largely the only thing the
juniors have going for them. Mr. Linder does not believe that figures will
be available for months but he says he is 95 per cent sure that it is a
major discovery, possibly as much as three trillion cubic feet. Dundee
Securities analyst Paul Beique says there are a lot of questions as to the
size of the reservoir but they will not be answered until a there is a
controlled well.

It looks like we a starting to sink as many short sellers are having there way on this play for awhile now. This could sink along ways as stop losses start to kick in. I'll find my re-entry point sometime in the next few days. Best of luck Cash Money.

Rick / Water

The well, which blew out two weeks ago, has gone from a smoky fireball to a clear gas flame and now to an orange torch.

Late Friday, the smooth, now-smokeless flame began sending off a geyser of steam. That change was caused by water from deep underground joining the stream of natural gas as it shot from the earth. It isn't known if the water is being produced from the same depth as the natural gas and oil, or if it is coming from a cracked casing above that level.

I believe the markets have reacted to this news in a negative manner.
What's your take on the sequence as listed above and to the water show at this time.

On another matter. If it is in the news --- news releases and newspaper articles, one should find it at Kerm's Korner. The National Post provided the Lost Hills story this morning - but The Financial Post was actually the source.
