The interesting thing is that it will kill off the 3G stuff, but it would mean that ERICY would not be able to catch up on a CDMA system and be foreced to use a GSM system until they invented another TDMA based system. 2G would go on, along with IS-95C/HDR as well as GSM, but with IS-95 catching up very fast, carriers would be going with the CDMA ssytem overall. Now that the GSM crowd has spoiled their market by saying it is not the best, but rather to go to CDMA, then they will loose even more market share.

If this were to happen, ERICY would loose more and Qualcomm would win either way.
