Big news out of CTST: It looks like BioAPI is folding BAPI into its system, and signing up new members (including Kaiser Permanente [an HMO!] and Citigroup):

We didn't see a Microsoft endorsement, but it looks like this competing API game is almost over. I/O Software is now working on BioAPI problems . . . and they were pushing BAPI before.

Wonder what Kessler says now.

I'm not a techie, and I'm not sure if I even understand what this link is saying, but it sounds as though they are talking about an actual CPU small enough to be placed in very small devices (like smart cards) in order to do specific functions. I have no idea what the implications are other than progress is being made and we might all be surprised at how fast things develop in the biomteric and smart card world.
