ThrustMaster Soars with Talk N' Play
THRUSTMASTER INC $9.563 ($1.687)

ThrustMaster, Inc. primarily makes controllers for PC games. They make joysticks, steering wheels, and other controllers that connect to PCs for game playing. Over the past year ThrustMaster regularly under performed expectations. They have reported earnings that were around 50% or more below analysts' expectations each of the last three quarters and are expected to report a loss of $0.57 per share for the year. The stock has performed accordingly going from around $13 to around $3 before moving up recently to $5 per share.

Today, however, ThrustMaster placed itself in the valuation category of an Internet stock when it announced the release of Talk N' Play. Talk N' Play is PC based software that enables up to four people to talk simultaneously over the Internet while playing computer games. The software uses licensed technology from Intel and the Instant Messenger software developed by PeopleLink. The news drove the stock up to its intraday high of $13 and the stock closed up 134% at $11.25.

The Talk N' Play software can be downloaded at thrustmaster.com and will be available in January and expected to cost $29.95. It comes with fourteen Internet games such as golf and classic card and board games.
