I doubt if The VP has anything to do with the drop in IOM. In fact, IOM just contunies its normal trend - i.e going down after every rally. But this time it is staying above $7 after dropping from $10 and so it ain't bad. Bulls might consider this as forming a base at higher level while bears might argue that IOM not rallying when the whole market rallies is real bad.

Let me try to find some -ve here just to justify the lack of interest in IOM's stock. We all know that IOM shippied 18 mil drive by mid Oct in the week of the earnings report and during Comdex the 19th Mil was announced. Today's news release says still 19th Mil which means they haven't hit the 20 Mil yet. I am sure you will see some news release as soon as they achieve this major mile stone. So, the shipments seem like 1Mil/month rate and not at exloding rate like we all would want. Besides, the selling price for both drives and disks are down and also more of the share is taken by OEMs which means no profit or even -ve margins.

OK. guys. don't jump on me. I was trying to justify the thinking of bears - in ohter words, IOM has not still proved them wrong. IOM is improving in strength but it is still not able to knock out the bears. But i also agree that sweet surprise this Qtr might very well be from Jaz rather than Zip assuming that Sandy's Ingram watch shows the normal trend. From Sandy's reports, i see a clear shift in Jaz sales from the laggard summer sales while i am still not convinced that Zip sales are exploding. Let IOM prove me wrong with a 20 Mil zip shipment announcement real soon. I would like to see more than 1Mil/Qtr esp in holiday time and with lower prices on drives and disks.
