If the British devised the jacket sleeve buttons, whose idea was it in recent times to add those pesky "placket" buttons on shirt sleeves (3 or 4 inches above the cuff button)? Even Bill Gates has a problem remembering to button his plackets, as seen in a full-page photo in his company's latest annual report. He's wearing a stylish blue-check, no-pockets shirt with an unbuttoned placket. But then Bill surely has more important details to be concerned about these days.
