I think the weak FPU hurt the 6x86 and MII much more than the PR rating. In the end, performance is the deciding factor.

I agree. A higher PR rating would help too. If Cyrix had an MII-450, they could command a reasonable price for it.

The 6x86 has been hurt so many ways it's hard to pick which one hurt it the worst...
1. low yields.
2. heat
3. weak FPU
4. needed mobo with 75Mhz bus support
5. PR rating
6. low PR rating
7. no FAB
---to think, the 6x86 was once faster than Intels best Pentium offering...
