Mark F: <<<The model hasn't changed this has been Jeff's dream from day one. >>> Mark dear how the f--k do you know? esp? mark f is just your cover and you're actually bezos? oh i get it -- start off as a book store, expand product lines, mount losses, then go out and buy FOR $180 mm a shop bot. if my dream was to do this from the get go, i'd have gone to work or founded junglee from the get go. <<<Everything as i suspected with this story is coming into the light -- wake up. >>>> God, bezos is so smart to implement your strategy btw, mark, you know i like you -- just tired and irritable. as for you hjm, i expect better than <<<<Glenn, < I am wondering why other retailers would want to pay AMZN > I'm not turning into a Bull and won't until the 'Things' stock price comes back to earth. To answer the above. (1) Right now he's known as the Giant on-line seller. No -- every article i read, refers to amzn as the pre-eminent book seller (some also mention music and videos too) -- not a real dominant brand name (2) Trust. I'm assuming that most customers would feel comfortable ordering, and giving them their credit card #'s. eh -- i'll give it to xcit's wallet or yahoo's or msn or aol -- visa is limiting my losses anyway (3) Delivery. A proven distribution, and delivery system. for books -- i need these bozos to deliver flowers, plane tix, etc???? (4) Technology. I'm assuming that he has the best technology and will have for the foreseeable future. the forseeable future in internet time being ... 3 weeks? (5) Reputation. No one can deny, that the Bezos PR machine hasn't made him a God, or at least Captain James T. Kirk of the star ship Internet e-commerce. got me -- for now (6) Aol, Yhoo and Amzn. America's dream team. There's enough room for all three of them. Just think of him as a transaction processor, and a delivery man that gets a cut of every order that comes in and out of his home.
