Marty, great question. Let's see if I can "unconfuse" you and any others.

99% of the time the MMs do not have control over nor do they want to control a market (illegal in its own right); however, when an MM or MMs get too long or too short, once the selling or buying pressure abates, they have a financial obligation to themselves to get out of the position the "clients" have put them in.

It is not illegal to lower your bid when there are no client orders in hand or other MMs are not standing their ground at a specific price. Nor is it illegal to raise your offer and sell into the resulting demand. That's "making a market" in the truest sense.

Hey what's this? Tsig UP 18.18% today! Closing near the high for the day on increased volume, double average trading volume. Isn't this a bullish sign? Doesn't this just scream of accumulation! of breakout! Is this the rumbling Dixie was refering to? I feel it too, the ground is shaking!
