(COMTEX) B: BEATIE AND OSBORN LLP FILES CLASS ACTION AGAINST ZAPATA C
B: BEATIE AND OSBORN LLP FILES CLASS ACTION AGAINST ZAPATA CORP.

NEW YORK, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action has been commenced in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on behalf of all persons who purchased the common stock of Zapata Corp. (NYSE: ZAP) from July 6, 1998 through October 15, 1998, inclusive (the "Class Period").

The complaint charges Zapata and certain of its officers with violations of the federal securities laws. Plaintiffs allege, among
other things, that defendants made statements containing material
misrepresentations and omissions regarding Zapata's efforts to enter
the Internet and electronic commerce businesses. These misstatements
caused the price of Zapata's common stock to double during the first
two days of the Class Period and inflated artificially the stock's
price throughout the Class Period. When the true state of affairs was
discovered, the price of Zapata's stock precipitously declined, thereby injuring the members of the Class.

The Complaint also alleges that certain individual defendants profited by selling more than 400,000 shares of their Zapata common stock at artificially inflated prices throughout the Class Period.

If you are a member of the Class who purchased Zapata securities during the Class Period, you may apply to the court no later than December 21,1998 to serve as a lead plaintiff in this case. Class members must meet certain legal requirements to serve as lead plaintiff.

A copy of the Complaint filed with the court detailing the above
described allegations, as well as documents necessary to participate in a representative capacity, are available by contacting Eduard Korsinsky at the law firm of Beatie and Osborn LLP:

To all,

I know that the posters here have been organizing and talking about legal action against the company's officers. The general consensus of opinion is that MTEI is/was a scam.

Apparently another OTC-BB company now comes under heavy suspicion and the folks on that thread appear to be in a quandary about how to organize or even if to organize (for legal action). While they're not yet 100% convinced that they've been scammed, a quick read of the last 100 or so posts might indicate a real concern.

Maybe one or more of you could drop over, take a look and give some needed advice.
