If you figure out where the Universe came from where did that place come from? If you figure out where the place came from that the Universe came from, where did that one come from? If you figure out where the place that the place that the Universe came from came from, where did that place come from?

It is so sweet when people think they have answered such questions by rolling them all into a ball and giving it a reverential name.

Hey, that would be a good theme for one of my Homeroom God Lecturettes that Bob will sponsor as part of his Bring Religious Views Into The Public Schools campaign.

Why does the universe have to come from anywhere? Why can't whatever is out there just have always been, matter and energy fluxing, and if it has always been, there is no need to add that extra thingy called a creator that has always been too, that is just extra clutter.

HA- I have the title for my sermonette "God as Clutter- the Agnostic perspective on universal neatness"

RE: What was there before creation?

There wasn't any there there. There wasn't any here there either. Also no when. There certainly wasn't any now then, or it couldn't be now now. First, there wasn't, then there was, but regardless of how close you get to then, you aren't there. It's somewhere else entirely. Oh la, I'll think about it tomorrow.
