Shares of National Media Corp. will soar in heavy trade amid excitement that the company could soon sell its Internet unit to the public. Shares of the Everything For Less Catalog Website will rise in speculation that a spin off will soon be announced. Traders will speculate that the company might file terms with the SEC for the offering. ''What's happening to the Internet is that anyone who has an Internet business has a fiduciary duty to spin it off to a general public,'' said one over-the-counter trader. ''I think that's what's happening here.'' National Media is one of those wild stocks that could get caught up in the frenzy.

Count me with those who can't see the sense in owning a red hot web site and not capitalizing on it with a lot of publicity at least, if for no other reason, than for the sake of the stockholders. Doesn't management have an interest in the performance of the stock? By all rights the stock should be skyrocketing by now.
