Yes, I just saw that. They were discussing AOL's NetChannel acquisition and the merging of TV and internet. I remain skeptical, though, about any service that requires the use of an additional box and is bound to 525-line TV resolution. Web TV only has 500,000 subscribers after three years. Wavephore has not done much, even with Microsoft adding it to its Windows 98. Of course, AOL already has the subscribers, so who knows? I think eventually HDTV, the internet, and wideband will converge, and maybe AOL just wants their foot in the door in the same way that Microsoft has MSNBC, which is a loss leader. It gets curiouser and curiouser...

ofcourse, everything is a big deal.
aol brings internet to TV: AOL also requires set-top box like Web-TV.
While Web-tv does not have fast access , aol will get fast access with
ties to Bell Atlantic etc. AOL is asking Justice not to approve T/TCI
deal as this deal will put athome in direct competition to AOL.
the objective of internet over TV for AOL is not to replace PC screen or
TV but to provide navigations so that users can select the TV programs
they want to watch or interact with the other users watching other
programs.
