Emile, I posted this to Christine a while back, but you might be interested: Coverage of the Israel/Palestine issue from a pillar of the American media: iht.com I would appreciate it if you would point out to us any evidence you find of pro-Israeli bias. The ethical tumors of Judaism are reduced to pimples and they are always understandable and justifiable when viewed in the context of innately evil Palestinians and Christians. Actually a number of non-Christians on this thread have strongly criticized the ethics of modern Israeli politics, which is of course a very different thing from Judaism. We are perfectly capable of seeing Israel for what it is, warts and all, but we do not find grounds for blanket condemnation and suspicion of the Jewish faith or all people of Jewish extraction. All exclusivist religion is a threat to freedom of belief; exclusivist evangelists are the greatest threat of all. Christians are a greater threat than Jews simply because they are more numerous and influential, more aggressive in their efforts to convert others (no Jew has ever come to my house to try to convince me to convert to Judaism, no Jew has ever tried to impose Jewish prayer on my children in school), and far less tolerant of other faiths. The atheists, agnostics, and pagans on this thread criticize Christians more than Jews because we see Christians as a greater threat to our freedom to believe as we choose, and to practice our own beliefs. Her stories are designed to defame Christ and heap calumny upon his followers. Come now, any historian can come up with documented evidence of far worse actions than those E discussed. Nobody needs to invent calumnies to dump on Christians, their own history speaks far more eloquently. Why do you talk so much about alleged (but conveniently undocumented) atrocities committed by Jews against Christians, while refusing to acknowledge the very well documented atrocities committed by Christians against Jews, and many others? Are you willing to discuss the black marks on the Christian record, or are Christians by definition good, and Jews by definition evil? They refect the spirit of Hollywood and TV networks. When you look at their writings carefully, one dominant moral theme suffocates all others: what's good for modern Judaism and Zionism is good, and what's bad for modern Judaism is bad; what's good for Christ and Christianity is bad, and what's bad for Christ and Christianity, is good. That is just downright ridiculous, and I defy you to cite an example. Hollywood and TV networks are trying to make money, not accomplish a religious brainwashing. In furtherance of this aim they devote their resources almost entirely to popularizing big hair, artificial breasts, miserable dialogue, and firearms with inexhaustible magazines. How do you get from there to Jews vs. Christians? Steve
