TERA: The gift that keeps on giving is trying to pop its 50 day moving average on some bs press release. Remember with 3 death spiral converts, there is always supply coming on to the market. Forget what the ex-HJ Meyers crim brokers are saying to the old ladies in Bellevue, this pig be augering in. TERA MTA COMPUTER SETS NEW WORLD RECORD; TERA SETS STANDARD FOR 12/16/98 9:17 Integer Sorting Business Editors/High Tech Writers SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1998--Tera Computer Company (Nasdaq:TERA), a Seattle-based supercomputer company, today announced that its multithreaded architecture (MTA) computer has recorded the fastest performance ever when running the NASA NAS Parallel Integer Sort benchmark, Version 2, Class A. "We ran the unmodified serial version of the Integer Sort benchmark," said Brian Koblenz, Tera's vice president of software. "The Tera MTA automatically distributed the work to all of the processors. We would run a tuned version even faster." The previously reported record was set by a 256-processor Silicon Graphics Cray T3E-900 with a time of 0.40 seconds. Tera's four-processor MTA ran this version of Integer Sort in only 0.27 seconds. "This result demonstrates once again the clear advantage of MTA for sorting problems," said Dick Russell, vice president of marketing. "This is a key indicator of the performance we expect of the MTA on database applications. We believe potential customers will be very excited by these results." "Now that we have built a full bandwidth four-processor network that meets our expectations, we will be upgrading the two-processor system at the San Diego Supercomputer Center," added Kathy Rowe, vice president of manufacturing. Tera's announcement comes at a time when the company is scheduling its move to a new corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility at Merrill Place in historic Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle, Wash. This press release contains forward-looking statements regarding, among other things, Tera's plans to deliver a four-processor network to the San Diego Supercomputer Center. There are certain factors that could cause Tera's execution plans to differ materially from those anticipated by the statements made above. Among such factors are risks associated with the ability to complete development of the MTX system successfully, integration of numerous modules into commercially configured systems, necessary modifications to hardware components, software and the integrated systems, timely availability of technology and components from third party suppliers and availability of adequate financial resources.
