Some action in the ongoing Ericsson vs QCOM battle for dominance of the so-called 3G (third generation) wireless standards. Recently, the ITU stated that if these two could not solve their IPR disagreements, the ITU would not settle on any CDMA standard. Perhaps in response, the following link to the QCOM forum includes a press release from Ericsson offering what is purported to be an olive branch and offer to compromise. The only problem is that QCOM had already rejected this particular compromise in one of their white papers. QCOM's white papers are available online at their website qcom.com.

And so, the fun continues.
