Bo..The best thing for your water dept. to do is to shut down their computers approx. 10 min. before midnight and then restart them approx. 30 min after midnight on Dec 31, 1999.

One of my clients is a local water department and we ran a test with their old computers which were in the same way.

When we advanced the date on the flow control computers to Dec. 31, 1999 and let them run they choked at midnight. We had to shut them down and power down, then restart them after midnight. The next night when we advanced the date we did the shut down routine before midnight and they came back up without any problems. Water flowed fine.

Their accounting department wasn't so lucky. We're replacing all of the PCs and software their.
