Clarence or all: How can I improve the fps
performance

I'd better let all handle this.<g>

Although I have noticed the serious gamers usually using an additional specialized 3D card as well as a primary combo card.

fastgraphics.com and cetinc.com seem to be populated by gamers who know their vids.

BTW I'm a Halfscot, too.......:-)

Halfscot,

If you want game performance buy TWO Voodoo II's. You G200 is pretty fast but not quite a voodoo II. How can you upgrade a G200 to 12M. 16M yes, 12M I doubt. It won't improve performance regardless. What you see is what you get...

Halfscot, you might also consider picking up a TNT based board (diamond viper 550, creative labs, stb velocity 4400 etc.) if games are your main criteria. The image quality is supposedly almost as good as the g200, and it would work very nicely with your OC'd 300a. In early 99, a new, faster, cooler version of these cards (.25 micron process rather than .35 micron) is due.

In your setup, these boards should offer a better performance than a Voodoo II at only slightly greater cost, would not take up a PCI slot, and would allow you to sell or reuse your G200.

Otherwise, Sean's solution is right on.

Good luck either way,

Dave
