Re Freezer

Hi Jay,

You probably have to run the freezer twice a day to keep food frozen.

However, there are a few things that I learned during the recent ice storm that you can do to minimize thawing.

If you normally keep the freezer only half full, add some half-full plastic water bottles ahead of time to increase the frozen mass and stabilize the temperature.

Cover the freezer with a couple of blankets.

Don't forget to move the food to containers in an unheated garage or shed if it is winter and below freezing.

Again if it below freezing, place some water containers outside, let them freeze and place them in your refrigerator to help keep it cool.
