Good luck Keith. Cable with E-Trade has been one of my best moves, especially TSE stocks. ASE slower because they have to go through midland, VSE also very fast, Nasdaq(they go through e-trade US)..slow, reporting and reusing the cash but trade get's through quite fast.

keith and all,

please let us know how your etrade account works out re: speed! - i'm very interested since i'm definitely contemplating a change of brokers

i currently use action direct and though my orders seem to be entered into their system quick enough, the time they take to eyeball it and open it is too long for me - some days it's done immediately but other days, it could be stuck there for 10 minutes or more - it's at the worst (25 min. once for me in which i lost 3 grand) when the market is rallying or plunging - they just don't have enough staff in those situations

i don't understand why they wouldn't just email their clients to tell them to phone the order in when their online area is understaffed or the service is not working properly - phoning in orders to action direct is not too bad even on hectic days - i feel it's pretty quick as compared to greenline in which i do phone orders for my mother's account - imo, greenline's phoning in takes forever - i hear that greenline's online is faster so they win with me there though i have never tried webbroker

with action direct, i recently had two orders investigated which were never filled on the nasdaq when i believed they should have been - they did honor the sales for them afterward so by all means, try and get it investigated if it happens

i guess online trading is having it's growing pains but i wonder if canada's banks will be quick to improve - i do not know the answer to that

have a good day everyone, m
