**OT** Ma Huang and vitamins

Well, thought all those palpitations were due to the market. <g>
Mine doesn't include any caffine so I drink plenty of coffee.

Looks like I may need to stock up before its banned. I remember the run on "assult weapons" a few years back. Was in a gun shop and the owner was answering the phone "get them while you can". The shelves were becoming open space as they were selling quite well.

Keep me informed when you think it might be time with the vitamins. Been noticing RXSD has been trying to get it's P/E down a point to be even with the rest. TWLB owes me...

So if the government wanted some capital gains wouldn't this be a good time for people to start selling?

Hepped up on speedballs,

Shelia

From those sites:
Ma Huang, also known as ephedra, mimics the drug ephedrine, a stimulant. Ephedrine is used to treat asthma or allergies, as an appetite suppressant and energy stimulant. Ma huang increases blood pressure and heart rate... Some ephedra-based products contain caffeine, which raises the potential for harmful side effects. When mixed with other chemicals, ephedrine makes methamphetamine, or "crank." Because of the potential risks of use and misuse, at least one state (Nebraska) has made ephedrine a prescription drug, no longer available over-the-counter. Others, including Florida and Texas, are also moving to ban the sale of ephedra-containing supplements.
While ma huang is effective as an appetite suppressant, it carries with it potential risk. Caution is advised.

The FDA published a proposed new Federal Law that will severely restrict the use of ephedrine (Ma Huang) in food supplements. Many Ma Huang based products add ingredients, such as caffeine, that serve to multiply the effect of the ephedrine.
