>>The Resource Kit book gets a lot of mention here and everyone
seems to have it, but the user reviews at amazon.com are terrible...

Both statements are sadly true. The resource kit includes
essential info and utilities, and it is unconscionable that
it is not included on the NT CD. It is also as the detractors
say. Disorganized, partially complete, and etc. But you
really can't afford to go without it.

Search around, it's widely discounted. I get it as part
of a package, so I don't know specifics, but that's what
I hear.

BTW, CD-Rom only version works fine. This is not the sort
of volume (volumes, actually) you take to the beach.

So, you properly reply, NOW they tell me <ggg>.

IMHO, getting the NT 4.0 res kit supplement 2 (CD Rom only) may be the best way to go. I have both the res kit and the supplement, and have never found the book very helpful. Plus, the supp 2 CD has everything on all the previous CDs (and perhaps in the book--though this may be wrong--others?) and is notably cheaper than the original resource kit.
