The reality is that SPGLA is a basket case of a co. Sales and earnings are down and their Eddie Bauer unit is suffering horribly, but Squawk works and that's all that matters.

Igor, Matt Boyer (I think that was his name) was on the "Round Table" around 9:50 this a.m. talking about one of his current Internet related favorites being Spiegel (SPGLA). First he discussed the problems of valuing many of the Internet stocks and then said that it is better to look at strong businesses that can capitalize on using the WEB (like catalog sellers) or something along those lines. He said SPGLA had a good WEB site which would enhance their catalog business and mentioned the Eddie Bauer connection. Must have spoken for at least 3 minutes on this (which for this show seems like a lot <G>).
