<< Masters of the wrong domain. The rush to get in on the TicketMaster/CitySearch IPO trampled a few investors who didn't do their homework. Some early news reports about the hot stock offering quoted the ticker symbol for Temco Service Industries, a giant in the field of building maintenance. What those reports failed to mention mention is that Nasdaq changed Temco's ticker symbol from TMCS to TMCO in October and then gave TickerMaster Temco's old symbol, TMCS, in November. According to one broker who gets paid no matter which stock is bought, "My customers tell me it it's like getting in on the ground floor of television, and I say 'You're right, but when was the last time you watched a Dumont Network?'" >> Similar thing happened today with ZOOM, which some buyers apparently mistook for XOOM.
