Correct. I own a landscape business and a nursery. I was a plumber for years. I have built around 50 homes from ground up. Fixed all my vehicles. My grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet. My mom taught me how to make bread. I have raised my own food, grown my own fruit, fixed most everything I have ever owned except a broken heart. That mended itself.

Talking about losing the heat inside your house is the reason you would blow the pipes out. Only in the case of losing the heat in the house for a prolonged period. The thermal mass of the walls and solar collection during the day should keep a home warm enough to avoid burst pipes. But if not get them blown out.

We are talking preparedness. Not absolutes here. Lots of other things I would acquire first before compressed air. Most important thing of all is to find a sense of community and find it fast. That will save ones sanity as well as life. Even in the good times.

And remember if you help someone else out they will in turn probably help someone. The law of survival says to help others in need......
