Actually, if I recall correctly one of the reasons that there is alot of option repricing going on right now(AXC isn't the only company doing this during Dec) is that next year there will be a new corporate tax treatment of such repricings. I believe that in the future co's will have to take the whole(or some part) of the value of the repricing as an expense. There was an article on this in last Sunday's NYT, I think.
