<<Should President Clinton, one of the most effective Presidents this nation was ever blessed by, (until he was caught in a perjury trap), be held accountable. Of course he should!>>

"was"

In most jobs, people who are no longer effective leave. BC apparently doesn't know when the gettin' is good. He had several opportunities to get out, maintain, and even strengthen the support he had. He could have maintained his "effective" image for posterity and continued as a powerful statesman, out of office. Too late now. He's being seen as an incompetent, bungler domestically and by the world at large. The last card he's got to play is the sympathy card. That wears real transparent over time.

The proper punishment would be to restrict his access to female interns, alone in the Oval office, for about 4 months.

Still flush from his earlier routing of Encyclopedia Starr: Boy Detective, David Kendall is intrigued by your suggestion. The President has indicated his willingness not to spend time "alone" with any interns, but Mr. Clinton reserves the right to meet interns ALONE, alone, alOnE and alone, as well as singly in the absence of other persons.

Further quibbles to follow. -eom-

One of the most effective presidents?

You're kidding right? Clinton will go down as the worst president of the 20th century, by far. A do-nothing whose only stated objective for his second term was to break Ike's record for number of rounds of golf. A do-nothing who was single-handedly responsible for the Republican congressional takeover. He'll go down in history as the president who bungled social security, race baited, destabilized our military, assaulted the environment and made a mockery of our justice system.

The worst.
