<<Right now cable seems to be leading>> True enough, though largely because of the RBOCS and not because of the state of either technology...IMHO.

Trying to follow the sector as it pertains to the customer premise side mainly...I focus more to the local loop and xDSL because I'm long AWRE. Been following AWRE for a long time (30 months) and have held shares for about two years. Was interested in Amati and heard about the patent issue with AWRE, felt the AWRE patents were solid and unique.

Now with the DSL rollout started I've decide to broaden my scope to the whole thing...satellite, cable, fiber, wireless, and so on. With me it will be slow.

Myself...I see the backbone build out going hand in hand with the roll out of DSL & Cable.

Following AWRE closely...3Com, Siemens, NN...not as close. G.Lite with it's upgrade path to full rate ADSL is what I'm presently betting on.
