HK,

"Remember when 3com and Robotics got married"

I wasn't that involved in the stock market back then. I
remember from fall/winter of '96 until jan/feb of '97,
everything seemed incredibly expensive....probably because
I use to read Barron's too much<gg>.

So, the analysts were saying $120/sh, aye? What did you
think back then? What was Eric B. saying? And the boards
around here?

Just started reading a good book:

Layer 3 Switching
A Guide for IT Professionals

by Jim Metzler and Lynn DeNoia

you can look it up in

phptr.com (Prentice Hall)

The potential of Layer 3 Switching is *incredible*.
Transmission speeds up to 10X as fast at one-tenth the cost
of current systems. It looks like the Corebuilder and
Layer 3 Switching are being *very well received* by the
user community. The difficult part is that if a user has an
old system, they have to tear out the legacy system entirely.
But, it's worth it in the long run. AND, more importanly, there
will be a lot of new users to create the user base initially
as it builds up credibility and a "must-have" reputation.
