<<On November 18, 1998, Infoseek completed the acquisition of Starwave Corporation, which was principally-owned by the Walt Disney Company DIS , and the sale of approximately 43% of Infoseek to Disney. Disney also purchased warrants from Infoseek enabling it to acquire a majority stake in Infoseek over time. In connection with this strategic transaction, InfoSeek plans to launch a Web portal that combines the best of Infoseek, Starwave, ESPN, ABC and Disney.
