Seems to be a misprint here: <<<John Kaiser, writing in a Dec. 9, 1998 Express, says Barrick's $5.50 bid for Argentina Gold sank because management, with about around 30 per cent of the company's 36.8 million shares shares, refused to do a lock-up deal.>>> I think Mr. Kaiser meant to say "Barrick's $4.00 bid sank"...NOT $5.50 which is a hostile effort. Also, with respect Mr. Kaiser, I think Newmont is there and will go after ARP fully. 2.55 million shares at $1.98 private placement? Doesn't sound like they want a partner to me! Cheers, Kevin
