I have followed PEI for some time. They have made a lot of great calls and some really awful ones too. They called the July 1998 market top to the day but totally missed the October rebound. They were bearish all the way up.

Their bond calls have been extremely good -- PEI was talking about a 4.5% long bond in early 1998.

I liked em in July, but Armstrong never called the upmove in October. He missed it all. I really like his work. He is the only person who has really explained LTCM, although there is an article in the NY Review of Books this week that I must read.
