Most people's stock is held in "Street" name, not their own. Is your source taking this into account?

Barber; What url do you use to get the amount of share holders,
I can find the institution numbers , but it doesn't include
the shareholder number. I have long thought that would be very
usefull in getting a rough idea of how liquid a stock is compared
to another. As I feel if other things are equal
the wider it's held the more liquid.
While many share holders may leave it in house name,
hence the small number for CPQ , that house name thingy
should about average out percentage wise for similar stocks, & or stocks in that sector.
