Not me, because you're right.

Rod,

What are the similarities and differences, based on your own experience, between the current down turn in oil prices and what the industry went through in the mid 80s'?

The numbers say it was worse then. What do the personal impressions say?

Regards,

Jack

PS - You are absolutely right about buying the management. I was going to comment on that base on some things I saw in Germany regarding the battle of Teutoburg Forest. Fought in 9 AD between the Germans and Romans. Romans lost big time. Failure in leadership was the root cause. However, I thought too many would think it a stretch going from an ancient battlefield to running an oil company. Besides, I was tired.

d, today is the first day of trading in the "repricing" period for the $30 MM preferred ($15 MM face value and one share for share "options"). It will be interesting to see how friendly are the "friendlies". I'll be watching on the side lines and waiting patiently for an opportunity to jump back in. I hope you are right with your forecast of $17/barrel next year at this time. However, if those stories about an overhang of 300 MM barrels that was floating around few weeks back is correct, I am not that sanguine about the prospects of $14 or higher next year.

Rod,

I'll take the bet. Since I bought a few oil stocks today - if your prediction is right, it will make me money, therefore glad to pay you. If you are wrong, I may need the money to help with the house payment! (g)
