Whynotte,

Talked to IR yesterday and he said they tried a diamond drill bit on the well that is not stuck and that blew right through the rock --- 90 ft. a day vs. 5 ft. a day with a normal bit. They should be drilling through the Harper zone any day now (which is the zone that the exploratory well is producing in).

Query --- why haven't they been using a diamond bit all along? Do they cost a lot more than regular ones?

This company's huge debt load is starting to bug me. Even with gas prices coming back up I feel the huge interest charge is raising their breakeven cash flow point too high. Hopefully Prentis feels the same way about this and will do something to trim it. There are a lot of ways to do this without just issuing stock, too.

Wynotte,

If you ever check back in here, I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts on these log results. I've been talking to some folks and some huge figures have been thrown around for likely production rates --- I'm talkin' 25 -- 30 mmcf a day!

From my relatively limited experience this is just about unheard of for an onshore Mississippi salt dome well. Are these guys just yankin' my chain or is this sort of production really possible here?

Hopefully you will see this sometime in the next week since I understand the production test is starting now and will take a couple of weeks to complete.
