Mark, you must have missed the discussion last year about Mother Teresa. The British author Christopher Hitchens wrote a very negative biography of Mother Teresa, in which as I recall he attacked her for the vast sums of money her charities collected which were never used to help the poor, and also for just ministering to the poor when they were dying, but doing absolutely nothing to try to change the social structure in India so that the condition of the poor was softer and gentler. He believed that she used to poor for her own glorification, basically.

I would have to go do a web search to find out more, and I have to go do other things, now. But certainly there is a multiplicity of opinions even about seeming icons of virtue like Mother Teresa.
