Borzou, I and most republicans are fully aware of the perception. It is as you've described.

But don't confuse an awareness of the perception with the actions being taken. This impeachment movement is out of necessity, not desire. I've said all along that congress must decide if perjury, a felony, is an impeachable offense. That is the issue at hand.

If the same facts were revealed to a democratically controlled congress, I believe we'd be having the same impeachment hearings. How could we not?

Well, I guess that just proves they are proceeding out of conviction, not for political advantage. Sounds like the definition of courage to me. Also sound like what people say they want out of politicians.

blah, blah, blah .......... Perjury, obstruction, abuse of office, affirmative lying to the American people. Those are the issues. He should be impeached. End of story. JLA

<< The public, correctly or not, perceives the impeachment as a crusade on the part of a bunch of Clinton-hating zealots in the GOP. >>

Well put. And the public has a lot of evidence to support that perception.
