Good morning all,

Been a while since my last post to AAPL thread on SI--

After 8 years of successfully upgrading and still using my MAC SE30, I just bought the new G3 300MHZ-64MB(with maximum upgrade to 768MB)-8GBHD-6MB VRAM-internal ZIP drive minitower with the complete host of audio and video port capability-----IT SCREAMS!!!

To all graphics students out there-
Anyone been using the new Corel Draw 8 and Photo Paint 8?

Any web designers had success using your work on Cyberstudio by Go Live with another web design program like Pagemill?

Comments or advice?

-joarel

One thing...it's a heck of a lot easier for someone that knows a PC to get on a MAC than vice versa!!

This speaks volumes for the Mac's ease of use, doesn't it? Aside from your statement being such a sweeping generalization, my experience has been that some people just have an aptitude for computers, whether they be PC's or Mac's. I used Mac's for a couple years before doing anything on a PC, and the transition to a Windows environment was almost seamless (aside from the unavoidable culture shock). This is all owed to the Mac (Xerox PARC?) GUI, of course. Of course I was also using the Lynx non-graphical Web browser, then Mosaic, UNIX-based FTP (command line), etc., so I was having a lot of fun before I ever saw my first Mac (an SE FDHD).

And tell your friends to wait for Yosemite!

Best of luck,

Mark

Annette- I have a Dell Optiplex. I like the pretty BLUE SCREEN surprise!

Eric, quit ripping on the machines the State of Wisconsin kindly got for me. I make good money fooling around with it every week, keeping it up and running- not to mention the time my cube-mates and I spend doing neighbor support.

Annette- other than doing web page design for the State, I am teaching in the learning center (main library, Truax) at MATC. If you are around, stop by! Ask for Richard.

These days, we all gots to be multi-OS-lingual. I'll say this- if you are doing art on windows based systems, you need a heck of a lot more computer expertice to keep your system running and odd things from whacking your output.

ps- don't bash MMakers, I think it could be options arbitragers adjusting the high price of calls.
