Hi David,

I agree with all your points on ZIP popularity. I was just trying to give Barber info on all the choices out there. If you are going to exchange files with others that own ZIP, by all means get the ZIP drive. However, in my opinion the achilles heel of the ZIP is the advantage of LS120/HiFD, which is backward compatibility and no need for two drives. With ZIP, you would need a non-existent 'four spindle' laptop in order to have internal floppy capability, not so with the others. I don't have numbers on LS120, HiFD is just coming out. One of these formats is a good bet to replace the current floppy (HiFD is much faster than LS120 but they are working on that), as 1.44 just doesn't cut it these days!!

Regards,
John
