El and Thread: Last week I said I thought that CPQ would spin around 39 for a week or so before breaking to new highs. I was surprised that we broke right through to the 41-42 level without skipping a beat. I now think that the 41 area will be the place where we spend that week or two. This is very normal. If you look at CPQ's chart, the move from 34 to 42 is like a spike - the stock needs a rest. Volume has quieted down, which is very good. Lots of stuff holding the market in check right now - impeachment stuff, euro, warning season and tax loss selling. CPQ is strong, it will hold up but I don't think it's going to make any big move right now. Next move to the upside will accelerate as earnings report approaches.

I think that one thing that would help CPQ stock would be if they started advertising their business products on TV - yeah, like DELL does.

PS: Tom Costello kept mentioning futures and options expiration affecting the markets today. Do options expire tomorrow? If they do, that may be affecting the action also.
