I would agree and maybe I should back off that, but if I recall correctly there are some short term traders that get that kind of result. As I cannot remember my source, let's just assume I am incorrect, but there are many that beat the 50% mark easily Since they trade very short term and usually in the futures pits they need that kind of success as they scalp.

I remember reading on the systems thread where someone thought, and I will get the numbers wrong, but this is close, that if you had 75% winners and a win loss ratio of 1.60, you would become very well off. I believe the key is money management and good risk control...something that is struggled with daily. If you are wrong EXIT! Mentally you think, it will come back, but most of the time, it doesn't.

Anyone claiming 80 or 90% is only trading about 3-6 months a year when the breadth is strong (i.e., the first 2-3 months off of intermediate term troughs).
